William Brandel, Principal, Industry Directions
William Brandel is a recognized industry analyst, e-Business practitioner and award-winning journalist, with almost 20 years of experience in the technology industry. At Industry Directions, Brandel specializes in the supply network services space, focusing on the technologies and business practices that are used to enable, align, execute and optimize supply chain processes, as well as gain visibility into the supply chain process and enable collaboration among partner networks.
Prior to joining Industry Directions, Brandel conducted extensive research into the SCM market for Aberdeen Group, where he focused on SCM collaboration and in 2003 developed the Business Process Network process and application interaction framework.
Brandel has accumulated hands-on business and technology experience by guiding the vision, functional development and execution of a number of Internet-based business initiatives. He served as director of e-Commerce services at BuyerZone.com, a Net marketplace focused on small-to-midsize buyers and suppliers, and directed the electronic commerce program at Corporate Software & Technology, Inc. (CS&T), a software value-added reseller that serves Fortune 500 accounts.
Brandel also worked as editor-in-chief of @Computerworld, a news and community portal targeting corporate IT managers. He has more than 10 years of experience reporting and editing in the business and computer trade press, covering the impact of technology on business. Brandel holds a BA in Journalism from Michigan State University and is a candidate for a Masters in Education Technology.
